ASTON MARTIN



It is a British manufacturer of luxury automobiles and sports. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. They produced their first car in March 1915. In 1922 there were few cars to compete in the Grand Prix; they beat records of speed and endurance. Financial problems reappeared in 1932 and Sir Arthur Sutherland was the one who rescued the business. In 1947, a tractor manufacturer David Brown Limited bought the company. In 2007 David Richards bought 92% of Aston Martin.

In 2005 the brand returned to sports competitions achieving a third place in the race at Le Mans, Aston Martin won for last time this competition in 1959.
Aston Martin´s cars throughout its history were handmade.
There is a number of car models that carry the "DB" initials, which means David Brown the man who ran the company since the end of World War II until 1972, when he sold. In 2007 David Richards bought 92% of Aston Martin. These vehicles are those associated with most of the films of James Bond, making it an icon of elegance and action.
